Farooz Rather has another upcoming publication.  His  essay “Playing it Pedestrian” about the German philosopher Martin Heidegger and James Norcliffe’s books of poems Shadow Play will appear in the summer issue of Cha: An Asian Literary Journal.

MFA student Farooz Rather has published a wonderful new review/essay titled ”Anatolian Ambivalence”  on Warscapes! It discusses the new English translation of Silent House, the second novel of Turkish writer (and nobel prize winner), Orhan Pamuk.

MFA Student Farooz Rather’s  paper  ”Agha Shahid Ali’s Epistemologies of Resistance” has been accepted for the prestigious American Comparative Literature Association 2013 annual meeting taking place in Toronto April 4-7, 2013.

The name of the panel is ”States of Permanent War in Post-Colonial South Asia.”

Farooz Rather’s essay “A Shroud Around the Suicide” has been accepted by Cha: An Asian Literary journal based in Hong Kong. The essay explores the ideas of memory, fiction, physical vs philosophic suicide in Julain Barnes novel The Sense Of An ending which won the Booker Prize for 2011.
