Many congrats to Erin Alvarez: she has been accepted into a dual Ph.D. program at Michigan State University’s Chicano/Latino Studies and English Departments.  She has also been nominated for a University Fellowship providing full funding for five years.  MSU and UC Santa Barbara are the only two universities offering a PhD in Chicano/Latino studies in the US, perhaps the world.  And this is only the first school she’s heard back from so far!
