Stacey Balkun has been chosen as an Artist-in-Residence for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! She gets her own cabin in the woods for a month and a stipend. Congratulations, Stacey!

Ander Monson’s wonderful essay, “The Exhibit Will Be So Marked (Treemix 12” Remix with Fade-Out)” from the Fall 2012 issue of The Normal School has been chosen by Cheryl Strayed for the 2013 Best American Essays. This is a huge honor for Ander and for The Normal School.
Cameron Aveson’s poem “A Murmuring,” which some of you may remember as ”Putting My Daughter to Bed,” just got accepted for publication in Lunch Ticket, out of Antioch University. Congratulations Cameron!
